Our Client is a leading carton manufacturer, providing bespoke solutions predominantly to food markets throughout the UK.

They are currently looking to recruit a Gluing Minder to join their team.

The ideal candidate will have experience operating gluing presses within the cartons industry.

Responsibilities / Requirements:

• To operate Gluing Machines in line with daily standards, whilst adhering to specific job targets
• To develop individual skills, both on a technical, practical and interpersonal basis
• To provide a continual and effective service within the department
• To constantly strive to improve machine efficiencies and minimise waste
• To follow all quality systems and procedures within the department
• To work effectively and efficiently as part of a cohesive team
• To maintain good housekeeping in the area, whilst working to specific maintenance schedules and work practices within the department
• Ensure compliance with all existing systems, standards and procedures within the specific work area to satisfy both company and customer requirements – including ISO quality, hygiene, health & safety and environmental standards
• Assist in organising the workplace to achieve high standards of housekeeping, and report any defects, hazards and/or issues to the relevant personnel immediately
• Liaising with production planning to ensure jobs are produced on schedule
• Undertaking pre-production checks prior to any job going on the machine to ensure all components items are available
• Solving machine problems whether technical, mechanical, material, or service related to ensure quality is maintained and deliveries met
• Set up and run the machine in line with best practice and thereafter maintaining product quality through continuous monitoring and adjustment
• Be prepared to undertake routine maintenance, mechanical adjustments and minor repairs to maintain the production plan, identifying more serious matters to the Shift Leader so planned maintenance can be arranged
• Achieving, as a minimum, press related key performance indicators and actively seeking to determine means of improving them
• Performing quality checks in line with the procedures in place and accurately completing all associated quality and process documentation
• By flexible working within the department ensure that any breaks taken do not affect the continuous running of the machine
• Ensure that any safety issues are addressed immediately and that the Company’s Health and Safety policy is not compromised

Key Skills:

• Essential: Good level of numeracy and literacy, NVQ or equivalent qualification
• Desirable: Maths and English GCSE pass or equivalent
• Essential: Good mechanical/craft ability, technical expertise in all aspects of specific production processes and understanding of how the department interacts with other areas of the business
• Essential: Effective team player, Good verbal and written communication skills
• Essential: Flexible, ability to work on own initiative, accuracy and attention to detail
• Essential: Full colour vision
