We are currently working on a retained basis with a leading manufacturer of dispensing products globally. As a supplier to some of the worlds’ most recognisable brands in a variety of markets such as; personal care, food, beverages and home products this organisation offers a plethora of innovative solutions in addition to more commodity-based products. Operating from their renowned facilties they are looking for a Sales & Marketing Director within their European division to lead a function delivering €50m in sales.

The Role:

  • Reporting to the President of the organisation this position will hold responsibility for defining and delivering the objectives for the European region, in-line with corporate strategy and guidance. This will include marketing positioning, market segmentation and setting volume, price and margin targets.
  • The management, development and growth of an existing team of six individuals consisting of; four sales staff, one marketing manager and one sales support.
  • Mapping out and understanding the value proposition – giving consideration to the customer journey.
  • Give clear direction to members of the sales team including territory planning and prioritisation, ensuring that business developers and key account managers are growing revenue in the right areas of the market, using the right channels.
  • Given the seniority of this position and importance of the European market it will also help contribute to overall company strategy development.
  • As a result of the variety of solutions offered to each market, this position will require the incumbent to understand how to sell both value-added and more commoditised products.
  • Budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
  • Overall pipeline management in addition to the consistent monitoring of performance against set budgets and KPI’s.

The Requirements:

  • Education to a Degree/Masters/MBA level is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience within B2B & B2B Sales and Marketing.
  • Of significant importance is the ability to sell both value-added and commoditised solutions.
  • Experience within dispensing systems, caps & closures or PET is highly sought after.
  • A commensurate leader you will have the drive and determination to lead from the front aligned to the coaching and mentoring skills needed to help your team grow, perform and overachieve.
  • Knowledge and understanding of European market dynamics in relevant market segments.
  • You will be able to demonstrate a strong and proven track record in decision making, engaging and managing commercial individuals.
  • The creativity to see opportunities along with the pragmatism needed to assess risk.
