Are you a Packaging Development Manager looking for a new and exciting challenge ?  We are a small close-knit team that supports each other like a family & looking for a Packaging Development Manager to take on this role & really drive the function forward.   Working closely alongside dedicated & experienced NPD, R&D, Marketing team to maintain the highest levels of customer satisfaction that the industry has to offer.

Reporting to the Director of Product,  you will support all packaging development required across the business whilst ensuring relevant packaging is sourced in line with the buying sourcing strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop packaging from either current options or custom options ensuring testing is carried out to the appropriate level.

  • Create & manage a high performing packaging technology team (currently 3) servicing the most demanding customers

  • Complete NPD costing for Feasibility projects and in conjunction with the buying team for Final costings

  • Development of a print management system to ensure approvals are tracked simply and quickly.

  • Provide a high service level of artwork approval as required

  • Ensure standards are set for all packaging items and develop system if required

  • Lead the Value Re-engineering program to take cost out of our packaging to drive profitability

  • Be the senior packaging contact for customers

  • Investing time to start an ongoing (Keizan) improvement project to improve production efficiency within the factory.

  • To sign off NPD projects from a packaging risk point.

    What you need to succeed:

  • Previous in-depth experience within Packaging development ideally within either pharmaceuticals or beauty but will consider talented candidates from fmcg markets

  • Critical Path Management Experience

  • Strong problem-solving experience

  • Excellent communicator

  • Strong team management experience

  • Brilliant customer service mentality
