Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm (with flexibility)

Our Client is a leader producer of printed folding cartons and bespoke packaging systems supplier based in the North of England, due to a restructure, they are currently looking to recruit a Cut & Crease Manager to effectively manage the teams at their North East sites, to minimise downtime, develop effective improvements for the department and achieve daily, monthly and annual KPI’s whilst maintaining high levels of safety and quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain high health, safety and hygiene standards set for the area
  • Achieve daily, monthly and annual targets for the department KPI’s 
  • Lead the teams to reach the output levels required by the production plan
  • Minimise downtime and develop effective improvements for the department
  • Liaise with the planning department to ensure efficient use of resource(s) 
  • Ordering of dies and management of die making facilities
  • Liaise with maintenance department re planned and preventative maintenance
  • Attend daily production and other meetings as required
  • Produce daily, weekly,  monthly and annual reports for the department and team
  • Manage staffing requirements – liaise with HR and conduct disciplinary, absence and performance meetings as and when required
  • Carry out all duties in accordance with quality standards (BRC/IoP; ISO) 
  • Ensure conformance to customer audit requirements at all times
  • Perform any other duties as required/instructed by the Operations or Plant Manager’s 
  • Reporting to Operations Manager

Candidate Requirements:

  • With experience or awareness of Bobst machinery (preferable) or similar manufacturing machines/environment, the successful candidate will have excellent management and problem solving skills with a strong work ethic and the desire to succeed
  • You will have demonstrable evidence of efficiency improvements; undertaking and successfully completing projects within time limits; and have experience of Lean, 6 Sigma or some other continuous improvement techniques
  • You must be able to lead, mentor, encourage and motivate the teams, driving forward improvements and changes wherever necessary to meet the needs of the business. 
  • You must be reliable, able to effectively prioritise and adapt to a varied and changeable workload and have a flexible approach to working hours
  • A full clean UK Driving License is essential
