PK4707 - POWER PRESS SETTER

GREATER MANCHESTER

£9 per hour (Revised after 6 months) + 28 days holiday + company pension + overtime as and when required

Hours of work: 37.5 hours a week - Monday to Friday - 8:30am till 4:30pm - 30 minute lunch break

Our client is one of the largest manufacturers of product identification in the UK. Customers range from electronics and engineering, small outfits to blue chip companies and household names.

They are looking to recruit a Power Press Setter for the running and setting of power presses.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure daily production targets are met
  • Ensure IFS production and scrap records are maintained
  • The improvement of existing tooling
  • Ensure quality control procedures are adhered to
  • To read and interpret technical drawings
  • Always look to improve production output, quality and processes
  • Ensure all company procedures are followed
  • Update any incorrect quality plans and report any drawing issues
  • Ensure a high standard of housekeeping is maintained in your working area
  • Ensure all guarding and safety equipment is in place and used when needed
  • Report all health and safety or maintenance issues

Skills Required:

  • Proficient in the setting of presses to a high standard
  • Computer literate with good knowledge of MRP systems
  • The ability to work well under pressure
  • Effective communication skills
  • Motivated individual who is flexible and willing to learn continuous best practice
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and positive attitude
  • Excellent organisational, time management and attention to detail skills
  • Comfortable in being able work alone and/or within a team environment, contributing and sharing best practices, resources and ideas in order to continually improve
  • Have the ability to work to set standards and procedures

Power Press experience is preferred however any metal press setting experience will be considered.
