Area Manager Flexible Packaging South Europe

The client:

Our client is specialised in the manufacturing of adhesives for flexible packaging. They are looking to recruit an Area Sales Manager for Spain, Italy and Greece to Increase the presence of their products in these areas, achieving the best possible profitability and opening of new markets

Main Responsibilities:

  • Elaborate and manage the sales plan for each market based on the needs and opportunities detected
  • Analysis of the market studies that allow to follow the evolution of potential purchases from clients, as well as the presence of my client and the competition in the market
  • Be responsible for distributors, agents and customers training of products in each market
  • Select distributors / agents, if necessary, according to the guidelines set by the Commercial Management
  • Elaboration of the sales budget, in coordination with the Commercial Management
  • Correct monitoring of each of the markets taking corrective actions necessary if there are deviations from the budget
  • Provide technical and commercial support required by customers
  • Be responsible for the sales that are made in their markets conform to the agreed conditions and report the expected margins
  • Preparation and fulfilment of sales budget in markets of responsibility

 

 

Main tasks:

  • Commercial management of the assigned customer portfolio
  • Expand the sales portfolio in the assigned geographical areas
  • Visiting customers in countries marked under their responsibility periodically
  • Preparation of visit reports informing the Commercial Management of the evolution of each of the markets under its responsibility
  • Periodically analyze sales data to detect deviations in both sales and margin
  • Inform the R & D Department of the needs identified in order to be able to offer new products to each market, quantifying volumes, sales prices and technical characteristics of each proposal
  • Organize presentations and / or training actions with clients
  • Negotiate the conditions of sale with customers and distributors of each market
  • Provide the appropriate sales support materials to each market
  • Technical support to customer testing and coordination of technical assistance and laboratory reports

Profile:

  • Technical or Superior Engineering or Higher Degree (preferably in Chemistry)
  • Fluent in English , Italian would be desirable
  • Good communication skills with people of different cultures
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a commercial role
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the adhesive/ flexible packaging industry
  • Negotiation skills
  • Team player
  • Availability to travel frequently to their areas of responsibility, between 55% and 75% of their time
