Technical Service Flexible Packaging

The Role:

The main purpose of the ‘Technical Service Flexible Packaging” role is to provide technical service by visiting and assisting customers with trials, coordinating with the Application Laboratory in Spain at customers’ requests, conducting physical tests for applications and writing reports.

To ensure and enhance communication and information exchange within the Department.

To establish strong relationships with the assigned partners of films, inks, technical substrates, machinery and external institutes. 

To provide technical support to other geographical areas worldwide if required. 

Main Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Provide Technical Support to the Sales Department in Central Europe by responding to the Sales Managers’ and Customers’ technical requests:



  • Assist customer trials mainly in Central Europe area but also in other countries worldwide if required.
  • Conduct trials in the technical office in Munich and coordinate the laboratory requests with the Application Laboratory in Spain.  Participate in the assigned customer jobs in the Application Laboratory in Spain.


    • Coordinate all customer requests with the Application Laboratory in Spain, including attendance in Spain as necessary. Run all necessary tests and be responsible for the reporting to customers (and internally).  
    • Ensure and enhance the communication and information exchange between the R&D Department and Sales Department.
    • Coordinate with the Business Manager and the R&D Department in relation to the development of new products by gathering all the market requirements.
    • Report to the customers in coordination with the Sales Manager. Update all related technical information including the technical data sheets in German.
    • Report periodically to the Business Manager CEU and the R&D Director to inform them about progress of projects.
    • Contact assigned partners of films, inks, technical substrates, machinery and external institutes and creating strong collaborative relationships.  

    Education and Experience Required:

    • Bachelor or Master degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Packaging or Industrial Engineering
    • 5 – 10 years’ experience in the flexible packaging industry 
    • Native German with an advanced level of English. Spanish also preferred
    • High level of technical expertise
    • Good communication skills
    • Ability to manage teams
    • Ideally resides in or near to Munich
    • Extensive travel required throughout Central Europe and occasionally worldwide
