A varied & busy role within a super successful food company, you will be responsible for the day to day management of artwork of packaging which needs to meet regulatory and production requirements. Manage artwork briefs and comply with all appropriate procedures whilst always looking for continuous improvement opportunities to ensure customer service levels are rising. 

KEY OBJECTIVES:

Work with Marketing, NPD, Purchasing, Engineering, Technical, and Production as well as building relationships with customers and their designated artwork suppliers and suppliers of packaging.

Be of a proactive nature to allow the assessment of current printed packaging formats and their efficiency within our production facilities and identify cost saving opportunities wherever possible


Reporting directly to the Divisional Purchasing Manager with close working relationships with the Group Packaging Technologist, Marketing, NPD, Purchasing, Engineering, Technical, and Production departments and key customer and supplier contacts

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Preparing and manage critical path documentation from a given artwork brief and communicating this to key stakeholders – Group Packaging Technologist, Marketing, NPD, Purchasing, Engineering, Technical, and Production departments and key customer and supplier contacts.

Attend NPD weekly meetings. Attend Artwork briefing session held by the customer . Management of proofs throughout the design process ensuring this is matched to the design brief, keyline and machine specs (this will include liaising with Artwork studios and their electronic artwork systems), Internal stakeholders, customers and suppliers.  Attend 1st print/production runs of key packaging for new items as and when required.

Support Group Packaging Technologist as and when required. Prepare mock up design samples as and when requested by Marketing.

Develop commercial awareness for initial concept costs for all new packaging materials and work within the Purchasing team to ensure that negotiation opportunities are maximised. To create and build strong relationships with customers and suppliers.  Able to enjoy working within a fast-moving environment with change and high expectations.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED

Experience within Packaging, Food, FMCG Manufacturing or Retail preferred. Organized and disciplined.  Good communicator (written and verbal). Team player. Able to handle multiple tasks. Self-motivated. Driving license for travel between sites & suppliers.
