Supply Chain Manager
Hudson James Human Capital Group are currently assisting a leading multinational packaging manufacturer in the recruitment of a Supply Chain Manager. This organisation are a progressive and innovative player within this segment of the market with a genuine ethos based on people development. Working at this circa £30m t/o site you will report into the site Managing Director and be a key member of the site management structure, providing effective management of a supply chain team including oversight of production planning and of working closely with the logistics team to ensure smooth running of both business areas.
Key responsibilities of the role will include actively search for opportunities to enhance site supply chain set-up and setting up project plans and team to execute plans to produce cost savings whilst adhering to new and changing environmental regulations. You will also be responsible for;
- Mapping supply chain flows and executing cost effective improvements to align with customer targets including reduction of inventory, improving production planning and optimising transportation.
- Holding meetings with both new and existing suppliers to establish milestones of partnerships and working to create negotiation strategies to ensuring the closing of deals with optimal terms both for the business and customers alike.
- Developing internal processes and procedures to ensure effective coordination of the supply chain function with key business areas including quality assurance, sales and finance.
- Management of the supply chain team; leading the department and ensuring that all projects adhere to relevant KPI’s.
To apply for this position you will be ideally CIPS qualified with around 5 years of experience within supply chain management positions in the manufacturing sector. You must be an effective communicator with strong abilities to build successful working relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers alike. An understanding of the packaging market and process would be beneficial although non-essential, as is experience of using SAP.
