Are you a technical expert in flexible packaging? Does involvement on which of the latest product ideas go to market excite you? Keep reading...!
Are you an expert in the technical ins and outs of flexible packaging materials? Is building relationships at all levels a particular strength of yours? Does the thought of having a real involvement on which of the latest product ideas are bought to market excite you?
This is a business with an excellent reputation for quality, service and innovation, the longevity of their staff speaks volumes about what they are like to work for. Constantly striving to improve and develop for their clients, this is where you come in!
As Technical Product Application Manager, your focus will be on all new rather than existing products. The role requires early involvement with R&D and the strategy and decision making process, direct involvement in the manufacturing process right through to working with sales and marketing. Once approval for a new product development has been granted, the R&D team will work to develop a prototype, from this point, it will be your responsibility to take this prototype through to completion and out into the market to be trialled. On successful completion of a project, you will then be responsible for training the sales team to ensure that they are fully equipped with the knowledge required to sell this new product on.
You must be happy to travel, as around 50% of an average month will require you to be travelling throughout Europe to provide technical support to customers. The other 50% of your time will involve a mix of working from home and visiting the UK factory.
So, what skills and experience do you need in order to turn this opportunity into a reality?
- Knowledge of shrink bags/films would be ideal but is not essential, as long as you have a flexible packaging background, training on these products can be provided
- Experience of running plastic/flexible products on sealing machines is required
- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead task force teams
- Willingness to travel - 50%
- Degree qualified or equivalent (technical bias)
- Basic food hygiene certificate with a food science background
