Quality Assurance Manager
Based in Herefordshire

To control and direct all Quality activities on the Leominster Site and drive continuous improvement through best practices & benchmarking to ensure that quality accreditation is maintained and standards to ISO 9001 are met.

Responsibilities
Lead, motivate and train Quality Personnel to maximise their effectiveness in carrying out their tasks. From a policy of participation and involvement encourage all Quality employees to identify areas of improvement in safety and performance to reduce operating costs.

Ensure appraisal schedules are adhered to and subsequent development plans are implemented and followed through to completion. This includes new starters.

Managing the Quality Assurance system, including regularly reviewing all documentation, processes and internal auditing activity to ensure full compliance with ISO9001.

Promoting effective Quality Management including influencing ‘quality behaviour’ and promoting a ‘quality culture’ of continuous improvement across the site.

Regularly monitoring product and process quality and identifying preventative and corrective actions for problems identified during the internal reject and scrap analysis process.

Managing non conformances and customer complaints by implementing corrective actions and trend analysis.

Preparing detailed reports and analysis for the site management team on quality performance.

Ensuring the appropriate level of induction and training is carried out in all aspects of quality management for Leominster personnel.

Conduct supplier audits to assess conformity if the agrees specifications are not met.

Vendor analysis on all non-critical suppliers.

Managerial responsibility for 3 Quality Technicians, building capability through effective career development and coaching.

Ensure that absenteeism is managed, procedures followed and the necessary documentation completed.

Ensure that all Quality personnel are made aware on a regular basis of production targets, statistics and any important company information.
Ensure tour team is motivated to report any hazards using the procedures in place, and that regular audits of the Department are made.

Ensure that all Safe Working practices and policies are understood, followed and enforced at all times.

Qualifications
Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years’ experience in medium/high volume business.

Personal Profile
Self-motivated with an ability to work on their own
An excellent communicator together with organizational and analytical skill
Managed a quality system compliant with ISO9001.
Good report /presentation skills
Numerate and experienced using business I.T Systems
