Packaging Project Engineer
Packaging Project Engineer to be responsible for providing added value to our packaging - being functionality or features - that would generate competitive advantages.
Technical management of complex packaging projects for the group: the Packaging Project Engineer will manage projects from ideation to implementation
Development of new personalcare & homecare packaging. Starting from the requirements of the customer defined in the approved New Product Development (NPD) briefing, he/she liaises and proposes the best possible option. Technical support to the site
The Packaging Project Engineer manages the totality of Cost of Product (COP) projects that concern the UK sites & be responsible to keep their database up-to-date with all packaging developments and to share this with his/her colleagues. They will also be responsible to lead one or more Best Practice workgroups with their colleagues, ranging from moulds, carton cases, films etc.
The ideal candidate will be ....
Chemical or Mechanical Engineer (or related engineering field) with experience in large projects (>1M investments). Be technically focused /strong packaging engineer/technologist with experience in rigids, flexibles, seconddary, printing & sustainability
5+ years’ experience in a production environment (production of packaging, filling, blow moulding). Good Project Management Experience. Managing and supporting multi-disciplined skills.
Technical & role sepcific competencies....
Knowledge in packaging and packing technologies. Deep technical understanding of machinery. Knowledge of principles of Statistical Process Control. Ability to use measurement equipment (slide calliper, compressometer, torquemeter). Fluent on Project Management tools. Experience managing complex projects. Generation of business cases. Capex management. Multi-site implementation. Handles different production and packaging technologies. Stakeholder management. Ability to understand and integrate various (and maybe contradictory) requirements and to find and propose the best possible option / solution. Translate commercial and marketing concepts into technical solutions and vice-versa. Ability to challenge different disciplines to be able to drive the best solution for the group, drive results, satisfying stakeholders reaching the optimum solution (customer / consumer / cost / efficiency). Create a positive impact for the team based on results and display of technical expertise and stakeholder management.
A clean driving licence and ability to travel to other sites as necessary.
Travel within the UK/Europe required.
