Based: Ability to travel easily throughout Europe is essential

Basic Salary Circa: €90,000 + 20% Bonus + Car

My client is a leading multinational packaging manufacturer. With a truly global reach and a host of much-envied blue-chip key accounts they have prospered in the recent market through innovative and bespoke solutions whilst also adding to their portfolio through a number of key acquisitions. Following a strategy aimed at driving best-in-class customer engagement, they are looking to appoint an EU Business Development Manager.

The Role:

  • A key driver of commercial activity, you will liaise with marketing, innovation, design and of course commercial teams to drive the development of account playbooks.
  • Deeply understand targeted incubation accounts including the environment and challenges faced to drive new ways of thinking in customer development.
  • Draw upon the companies’ full product offering to analyse the most effective offering to drive increased customer tender activity in addition to enhanced key account penetration.
  • Build key internal relationships with Sales & Marketing leaders.
  • Coordinate the post-tender phase to ensure any awarded contracts are on-boarded correctly and to the highest level.

The Requirements:

  • A self-motivated individual with the ability to work autonomously.
  • Comfortable with extensive European travel, with occasional global travel.
  • Excellent language skills, particularly German and English, additional languages would be highly sought after.
  • Must possess a strong ability to work as part of a team and the strength of leadership to pull together a multi-disciplined collection of internal stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in packaging or affiliated industries would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Previous budgetary responsibility
  • Of upmost importance is possessing a true ‘hunter’ mentality. Someone who identifies opportunities and works relentlessly to make these reality would be well-suited to this position.
