Account Manager - Produce Packaging

The Client:

This Packaging Group is a major success story and represents an exciting career development opportunity for account management, business development and sales professionals that want to be part of a forward thinking, challenging, innovative and evolving organisation.  The Group is a significant player in supplying an envious portfolio of household brand and private label clients, which includes all the major UK retailers and their supply chain.  This is a highly challenging commercial role with a requirement to deliver Ebitda performance in line with company targets.  Responsibility for the role will include all internal and external business planning, negotiation, forecasting and cross functional working activities to deliver budgeted sales and build client relationships.

The Role:

·    Deliver proactive account management and strategic business development to a portfolio of key national accounts
·    Plan and attend regular update meetings with accounts
·    Manage ad-hoc queries and enquiries generated by account portfolio
·    Liaise with internal departments to ensure requests are followed up and required information and support are completed in timeframes acceptable to the customer
·    Manage external and internal expectations
·    Develop new relationships with Blue Chip customers
·    Contribute to strategic planning in the selected categories
·    Growing the Sales and profitability of the account
·    Contribute on a regular basis to internal and external communications
·    Develop and manage relationships with key salespeople
·    Respond to queries from specific sales initiatives relevant to the market and customers
·    Proactively monitors and strives to maintain high levels of quality, accuracy and process consistency
·    Negotiating pricing and commercial terms and contract within the agreeable standards
·    Overseeing the excellent customer service to the account
·    Forecasting demand and liaising with supply chain to ensure continuity of supply

The following experience is required:

·    Experience selling produce packaging
·    Record of achieving profitable product sales growth ideally within demanding large FMCG product categories  
·    Evidence of good company sales training and ability to work in modern structured professional sales environment
·    Experience of ‘value proposition’ selling and capable in targeting business development within large blue chip and demanding customers
·    History of dealing with blue chip FMCG or retailer businesses is an advantage.  You will have the expertise to know how such organisations operate, selling the company’s capability and how develop relationships on a multi-contact basis
·    Know who the internal/external customers are, what their expectations are and understand the process in this area
·    Sound understanding of modern business planning, negotiation, analytical, commercial acumen and influencing skills
·    Organisational and time management skills
·    Communicate effectively
·    Have a wide range of problem solving techniques
