Our client is a packaging manufacturer producing paper and board related packaging for the food, non-food and beverage markets. The business operates on a global basis and is now looking to recruit a Quality & Technical Manager. The role will involve assisting managing a team of 9 people and promoting ways of working to support and monitor continuous improvement across the Quality and Technical department.

The position:

  • Manage/supervise the day to day running of the quality department
  • Ensure that the department are all adhering to the same quality standards
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Data analysis and reporting
  • Investigate quality issues either highlighted internally or externally and improve standards
  • To work alongside other departments in relation to quality issues
  •  Auditing internal processes and procedures to ensure the correct quality product is supplied to customers
  • Develop testing methods and procedures for new and existing products
  • Develop, revise and Implement systems that facilitate productivity, improve processes and guarantees efficiency
  • Perform quality assessments
  • Communicate with internal and external clients
  • Train employees on quality measures and company policies
  • Investigate systems’ failures and issues
  • Pursue self-development and training in current quality principles
  • Investigate, document, and maintain records accurately

 

Experience required:

  • ISO9001, BRC, AIB and HACCP knowledge 
  • Familiar with Minitab
  • High volume and fast moving commoditised manufacturing experience
  • Colour management, paper, and/or plastics experience advantageous but not a pre-requisite
  • Managing a cross-functional improvement team
  • Ideally be educated to Degree or HND level
  • Experience of managing a small team
  • Strong communicator written and verbal
  • Have proficient interpretation skills for figures, statistics, regulations and policies
  • Be strategic, methodical, logical and detail oriented
  • Have good supervisory, management and networking capabilities
