Area Manager Adhesives Germany & Austria

Our client is specialised in the manufacturing of adhesives for flexible packaging. They are looking to recruit an Area Manager for Germany and Austria to increase the presence of their products in these areas, achieving the best possible profitability and opening of new markets.

The Area Manager will be required to: 

⦁    Elaborate and manage the sales plan for each market based on the needs and opportunities detected
⦁    Analyse the market studies to follow the evolution of potential purchases from clients, as well as the presence of the company and the competition in the market
⦁    Ensure that all customers receive the training and updated information of the products of interest
⦁    Develop the sales budget, in coordination with the Commercial Management
⦁    Correct follow-up and take corrective actions as necessary in case of deviations from the budget
⦁    Provide technical and commercial support required by clients

Main Responsibilities:

⦁    Commercial management of the assigned client portfolio
⦁    Expand the sales portfolio in the geographical areas assigned (Germany and Austria)
⦁    Visit customers on a regular basis
⦁    Prepare visit reports to inform the commercial management of the evolution of each market under responsibility
⦁    Periodically analyse sales data to detect deviations in both sales and margin
⦁    Inform the R & D Department of the needs identified in order to offer new products to each market, quantifying volumes, sales prices and technical characteristics of each proposal
⦁    Organize presentations and / or training actions with clients
⦁    Negotiate the conditions of sale with clients
⦁    Provide the appropriate sales support materials to each market
⦁    Offer technical support to clients and coordinate technical assistance and laboratory reports


⦁    Technical or Engineering degree or Higher Degree (preferably in Chemistry)
⦁    Successful record in sales and/or business development. At least 3 years industry-specific commercial experience
⦁    Serious, methodical, rigorous and with great capacity for work
⦁    Fluency in both written and spoken English and German is essential
⦁    Good communications skills; ability to work face to face with clients and translate market/customer needs with others within the business
⦁    Willing to travel frequently (60 - 70%)
