Business Development Manager

An opportunity has arisen for a Business Development Manager and in the Retail IT Hardware Sector. Our client is a leading provider of in-store hardware and software solutions. This is primarily a New Business position selling to the major food retailers across the UK.

SALARY: up to £65,000

· OTE: circa £25,000, but open ended
· Audi or BMW
· Pension & Health schemes

LOCATION: UK - this is a national role Head Office is Milton Keynes

JOB SPECIFICATION: Business Development Manager : Retail

This is a technical solution sell that will be 80% New Business Development.

The scope of the role is to identify the key departmental heads who in turn influence the final decision-making. Your ability to manage high-level relationships is a key element. Business expectations will vary from department to department. Your job is to identify those requirements and present a compelling business case.

Full Technical support pre-sale & project management after order, means you can concentrate on fully on delivering sales and growing our retail market.

REQUIREMENTS: Business Development Manager : Retail

· You will ideally have a current and proven track record in a Sales role, specifically developing new business selling equipment into the Major Tier 1 food retailers directly or via system integrators in the UK.
· The company will also consider National Account Managers/Business Development Managers who are currently selling PoS systems, dispensing, automation, refrigeration, labelling systems or any other integrated capital equipment into major multiple retail businesses


A very well established and market leading manufacturer of (including both hardware and software with an average order value of circa £70,000 selling to both blue chip and SME food manufacturers) who are currently restructuring in order to continue their impressive growth and their position as market leader.
