Responsible for directing the overall packaging development & new product development Global processes for skincare (face & body) & toiletries categories for this global market leader.
This exciting role will be responsible for implementation of products throughout the LATAM and EMEA regions, leading & managing a team of geographically dispersed Technical Specialists working to that end.
Accountable for investigating & implementing corrective and preventative actions to various quality issues presented. Accountable for quality improvements globally, all categories. Lead, and direct the teams enaged in the Development and Engineering process. Ensure the maintenance of leading edge competencies in New Product Engineering, with respect to
o leading edge technologies, latest developments and QA techniques,
o First Rate communication skills
o excellent scientific rigor
o Value engineering attitude to product design.
Mentor and develop these competencies in all team members.
Direct the NPD process. Understand and quantify the impact of stakeholder decisions on the implementation path and in the final product. Objectively facilitate solutions for product related issues.
Work with global NPD & Marketing groups to represent the categories voice in New products. Contribute to and drive to adopt consistent high standard in overall Product Execution, inclusive of Packaging Specs.
Education , Experience & Skills required :
Degree Level in Engineering or Science
A minimum of 15 years of Package/Manufacturing experience in the beauty industry
10 year’s experience in the development of mission critical packaging in a medium and high speed packaging environment.
You will have worked in a team environment & led teams, have scientific understanding of packaging and its development. Packaging, Processing, Manufacturing expertise & good understanding of Global Packaging Suppliers. Experience leading global teams stationed in multiple countries. Knowledge of all relevant software - MS Office, Solidworks, CAD/CAM, MSP, 3D printing. Excellent Project Management & Communication and Facilitation skills required. Curious and Problem solving approach to technical issues. Keen eye for technical detail.
This is a an extremely demanding role involving the direction of a team that liaises and coordinates the work of different groups and individuals. This is performed under tight deadlines and cost constraints. A high degree of knowledge is required of the FMCG/ cosmetic industry and its related supply base.
A complex role requiring balancing of high level leadership and communication skills alongside technical skills high commercial rigour and tight control of time and cost deadlines and limits. Typical challenges are resolving cost or timing issues on NP introductions, alongside key stakeholders, resolving differences of opinion of conflicting needs.
£65k - £80K basic (DoE) +car allowance + bonus up to 15% +excellent benefits
