MACHINE OPERATOR - LABEL PRINTING

LANCASHIRE

Up to £26K depending on Experience + 20% Shift Allowance + 25 days + public holidays, Private Healthcare, Pension (matched up to 7%), Incentive Bonus, Death in Service benefit (3 x salary) plus other benefits TBD

Our Client is currently looking for an experienced label printer with a history of operating machines such as Nilpeter, Mark Andy, Gallus etc. multi-colour work would be very beneficial to this role (4 Colour would be a distinct advantage).
The main function of the Machine Operator is to set up, operate and dismantle a variety of colour press and ancillary equipment.

Responsibilities

• Candidates should demonstrate an understanding of the functions and basic mechanical workings of most machinesnder limited supervision
• Performs appropriate functional quality tests for operations performed on all equipment
• Has a working knowledge of job related policies and procedures
• Complies with all required safety practices and regulations
• Train new Operators in finishing operations

Principle Accountabilities:

• To produce rolls of self-adhesive labels, tickets & tags
• Consistently achieve productivity targets
• Maintain optimum quality at all times
• Complete accurate job records - time recording
• Maintain optimum Health and Safety standards and keep press and work area clean at all times

Qualification / Experience:

• Good general level education
• Must have 1 - 3 years of related experience operating finishing and/or label conversion equipment
• Experience of operating high-speed production machinery
• Experience of working on a production environment to high quality standards and meeting targets and deadlines
• General computer skills and numerical skills
• Ability to use initiative with excellent problem-solving skills
• Flexible approach with the ability to follow detailed instructions

Hours:

• Current COVID hours:

1 week on 6.15am till 12.45pm (6.5hrs per day with 1 x 30min break) 30hrs per week
1 week on 1.15pm till 8.45pm (7.5hrs per day with 1 x 30min break) 35hrs per week

• Once COVID is clear, will revert to original hours:

1 week on 6.15am till 2.15pm (8hr day with one 30 minute break) 37.5hrs per week
1 week on 1.45pm till 22.15pm Monday to Thursday (8.5hr days with one 30 min break), then Friday 1.45pm till 7.15pm (5.5hrs no break on this day) 37.5hrs per week
