MACHINE OPERATOR - LABELS
LANCASHIRE

Hours of Work - Double Day Shift:
* 1 Week of 6.15am till 2.15pm (8hr day with a 30-minute lunch break) 37.5hrs per week
* 1 Week of 1.45pm till 22.15pm Monday to Thursday (8.5hr days with a 30 min break), then Friday 1.45pm till 7.15pm (5.5hrs no break on this day) 37.5hrs per week
Our client, a Labels Company based in Lancashire, is currently looking to grow their team with the appointment of a Machine Operator. The main function of the role is to set up, operate and dismantle a variety of colour press and ancillary equipment.
*Labels experience is essential*
*The ideal candidate will also have experience operating flexographic printing machines such as Nilpeter machines or RFID.*
Responsibilities / Requirements:
- Candidates should demonstrate an understanding of the functions and basic mechanical workings of most machines under limited supervision
- Have a good knowledge of water based and UV Inks
- Follows work order instructions and performs labelling requirements
- Adhere to productivity standards
- Contributes primarily through the execution of defined processes and procedures but may make suggestions for process improvement
- Ability to resolve a variety of problems of limited complexity by following highly detailed instructions or procedures
- Transmit and receive basic information related to role in order to carry out duties
- Builds productive working relationships internally, generally within the immediate department or the team
- Learn policies and procedures and how to apply them to the issues experienced in routine activities
- Learn and closely follow processes and directions
- Receive direct supervision for routine work, new projects or assignments
- Train other team members.

- Have a working knowledge of job-related policies and procedures
- Complies with all required safety practices and regulations
- Trains new Operators in finishing operations
- To produce rolls of self-adhesive labels, tickets and tags

- Maintain optimum quality at all times
- Complete accurate job records - time recording
- Maintain optimum Health and Safety standards and keep press and work area clean at all times
Qualifications & Experience:
- Good general level education.
- 1 - 2 years of related experience operating finishing and/or label conversion equipment
- Mechanical Abilities
- Ability to work efficiently with others
- Ability to work with light to medium machinery
- Experience of operating high speed production machinery
- Experience of working on a production environment to high quality standards and meeting targets and deadlines
- General computer skills and numerical skills
- Ability to use initiative with excellent problem-solving skills
- Flexible approach with the ability to follow detailed instructions
