Operations Manager - Labels




£ Open (Depending On Experience) + 20 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays + Pension

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm

Our Client is a manufacturer of high-quality self-adhesive labels and packaging in the UK to a wide range of market sectors including retail and food. A strong focus on product quality and delivery at the top of the company agenda makes them ideally positioned to offer the best service to Blue Chip customers and brand owners in the UK.

They are currently looking to recruit an Operations Manager to oversee the planning of production and ensure that the business is running efficiently and providing a quality product and service that meets the expectations and needs of clients.

Knowledge of Label manufacturing would be advantageous.


  • Oversee production planning, liaise between departments and ensure the business is adequately resourced
  • Measure: Output matching budget and hitting delivery dates
  • Providing a leadership support function to teams and motivating staff to achieve production goals - Waste, Efficiencies, etc. (set targets)
  • Managing budgets and costs effectively - Budget targets
  • Implementation and management of projects, systems, policies and procedures relating to business operations - Projects, system, policies and procedures update
  • Line Manager for Production Staff dealing with all HR issues and ensuring members of staff are compliant with the company culture - Staff Performance Reviews - Quarterly
  • Management of Quality Assurance Systems (BRC, ISO), Site tidiness and organisation and all Health & Safety related matters - BRC / ISO Annual Audits & Regular Internal Audits

Duties & Tasks:

  • Management of Production Schedule resources to consistently meet the output targets of the business
  • Management of work output to ensure the business operates efficiently, meets the requirements of its clients and operates within set budgets
  • Management of Production Staff - HR issues and regular communication
  • Monitoring and analysing the output, systems and procedures of the business to check that they remain effective
  • Work on new systems and procedures to continually improve the business and its employees
  • Liaising with other team members and senior management team to provide feedback on how operations are affecting the business
  • Managing resources of the production department, ensuring employees are capable to perform required tasks and developing staff through training programs
  • Planning and controlling change
  • Managing Projects and driving continuous improvement throughout the business
  • Managing quality assurance and management system programs
  • Researching new technologies and alternative methods of efficiency
  • Setting and reviewing budgets and managing cost
  • Overseeing inventory, distribution of goods and facility layout
