Packaging Graphic Designer - Skincare & Cosmetics

Reporting to the Head of creative, you will be responsible for taking established design principles and guidelines, creatively interpreting, adapting and applying to full range of packaging across iconic brands, including core brand ranges, gifting and limited editions.

The role ensures designs work across a range of formats, components and packaging types to create cohesive and consistent brands on shelf and online.

Responsible for all matters relating to product graphic design, including but not limited to:

  • Packaging component and carton design
  • High-end, print ready artwork creation
  • Product concepts & visuals
  • High spec 3D product renders and presentations
  • 3D paper mockups when needed
  • Conceptual briefs through to final execution from briefs from NPD/Sales/Head of Creative
  • Managing and upholding brand guidelines across both brands, to ensure consistency and a strong brand presence
  • Day to day management and prioritisation of workload
  • Packaging artwork archiving and tracking
  • Implementation of procedures that facilitate the smoother operation of package design process
  • Managing internal Quality Control processes and procedures alongside NPD
  • Review and sign off the product packaging samples and boxes/cromalins
  • Liaise effectively with all departments to ensure requirements are known and met
  • Participation in creative packaging meetings with external suppliers
  • Support for Design Team on business promotional, marketing material and/or web banners when necessary
  • Accountable for own performance and compliance against objectives and standards
  • Staying abreast of current and future packaging trends, print processes/finishes/feasibility

 Skills/experience required :

  • Adobe Creative Suite CC (highly skilled in Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat)
  • Strong eye for Packaging and artwork graphic design
  • Strong Technical print process, set up and packaging production knowledge (Including setting up artwork layered with cutters, finishes and colour profiles)
  • Strong typographical eye and knowledge
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  •  Minimum 4 years  experience/ good knowledge of print process and artwork set up
  • Experience within the beauty /luxury markets essential
