As Senior Packaging & Graphics Developer , you will be based within the Innovation R&D function, supporting the delivery of the Europe and Africa Innovation pipeline, which is of significant strategic and commercial importance to our client as a main driver of growth for the business.
The purpose of the role is to drive competitive advantage through commercially focused technological innovation informed by consumer, new technology development or application of external technologies & strategic science activity and deliver new print and technical packaging solutions, ensuring delivery of goals within budget. Through strong engagement with marketing teams and design agencies support the business with technical expertise and commercially driven solutions, whilst also creating digital visuals & physical prototypes for design development and commercial activity. Engaging with the Supply and procurement colleagues to drive through the project to deliver the marketing goals.
You will lead complex projects, platforms and/or product categories via cross-functional teams & be respected as a technical expert amongst cross-functional peer group.
Main skills and experience required :
We’re looking for talented candidates with qualification in Print Technology, Packaging Development or technical/scientific fields who possess deep functional understanding and capability of all print processes and processes reprographics and color.
The successful candidate will have experience of delivering printed packaging components from design through to print and gained knowledge across different formats and componentry & preferably across plastics (films, shrink), paper, glass, cans, closures.
Ability to create print solutions balancing cost and quality.
Strong functional understanding and experience with print manufacturing processes: offset & dry offset, flexography, letterpress, gravure, rotary & flat screen printing, pad printing, digital printing, hot stamping, cold foiling, flat & rotary embossing, flat and rotary die-cutting is also required.
The ideal candidate will also have an understanding of packaging design and branding, of working closely with design agencies and marketing teams to deliver their brand vision in production packs that contain the ethos and intent of the design vision brought brilliantly to life through the utilization of suppliers capability and the latest developments in press, ink and substrate technology.
