Our client is a specialist in the manufacture of high quality conventional corrugated packaging, an exciting opportunity exists for a high calibre Paper and Materials Procurement Planner to join their team to lead and manage the day to day Paper & Materials Procurement Planning operations for the North West, including the Asset Materials for the company's operations.
The role is pivotal in assuring fluent supply in line with factory planning & scheduling. This role extends to material quality control, dry pallet and top board control, pallet collection haulage, dry pallet trailer park operations, supplier control and management. You will collaboratively work with all supporting operational functions within the company and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Forecasting of paper requirements
  • Progress managing order status with suppliers
  • Management and development of the procurement procedures and tools with Paper suppliers
  • Manage the flow of internal materials, whilst monitoring and reporting supplier issues that could change supply expectations
  • Control internal stock levels
  • Reduce aged and obsolete stock
  • Maintain SAP & GPT transactions and work flows
  • Tooling tasks and organising the transfer of tooling between different sites
  • Track financial lines of reporting within Logistics and Procurement
  • Work with relevant internal departments to match and balance physical storage constraints for all areas under scope of the role
  • Have the potential to support with Finish Goods Inventory control
  • Work with asset partners
  • Co-ordinate stock counts and reconciliation of associated inventory
  • Manage provider associated with Dry Pallets throughput, supply and storage
  • Key point of contact for the providers implanted FLT operator/s

Experience / Skills:

  • Experience of managing the internal and external contractor companies
  • Clear understanding of customer needs and internal suppliers
  • Previous experience within manufacturing operations
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills are essential as are team working, flexibility, influencing skills, planning, organising and prioritisation
  • Ideal candidates will have excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail and customer focus
  • Candidates should be able to demonstrate process orientation with an ability to drive continuous improvement and best practice
  • Good communication and influencing skills are required to enable optimisation of the overall supply chain
  • A knowledge of planning, load planning, finished goods inventory and supply chain functions would be advantageous
  • Previous experience of procurement and stock management would be advantageou
