Our client is searching for a Process Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a good balanced understanding of continuous improvement and have good working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Lean Sigma tools and techniques.

You will be responsible for facilitating continuous improvement processes. This will be done by leading functional teams, facilitating meetings and coaching LEAN principles. Daily data collection and reporting will form a large part of the role in order to support the development and delivery of a world class manufacturing site.

You will be reporting to the Operations Manager and will lead initiatives and activities within the manufacturing areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting continuous improvement events resulting in employee skill and knowledge development and KPI performance improvement. Tools & Techniques used (not exclusive):
  • Workplace Organisation (5S & Visual Management)
  • Waste Elimination
  • Set-up Reduction (SMED)
  • Root Cause Analysis Problem Solving (DMAIC)
  • To be accountable for own health and safety whilst at work, operating in line with company procedures to enable a safe working environment
  • To raise any unsafe acts seen immediately with individual(s) concerned and immediate reporting of health and safety incidents to management using behavioural safety cards (Observation Cards)
  • Coordinate daily improvement activities to ensure continued. reduction of the seven (LEAN) wastes
  • Promote lean manufacturing principles (TPM, SMED, 5S, DMAIC, improvement teams)
  • Take an active role and eventually lead improvement meetings
  • Updating the site's KPI boards
  • Collect data and report back via the Performance Management System structure
  • Having a clear understanding of the company's policies and values
  • Support the development of a culture which promotes daily problem elimination, whilst devising and implementing improvements to systems, methods and procedures
  • Develop employees through awareness programmes of the Lean Toolkit
  • Measure and provide key metrics for both internal and external customers
  • Promote Root Cause Analysis as a daily tool
  • Support the sites Operational Excellence Programs

Qualifications / Experience:

Graduate Calibre or similar through experience/vocational qualification
Six-sigma Green/Yellow Belt or equivalent
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma tools and techniques
A3 problem solving
PDCA
5S
Data analysis
Strong IT skills with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications i.e. Word, Excel and
PowerPoint, with a strong emphasis on Excel
2 years working knowledge within a continuous improvement team
