Mondi Group offers their customers a broad range of packaging solutions and products that meet their challenges across a wide variety of industries and end-uses. Mondi Heerlen B.V. focuses hygiene and fiber composite industries (aircraft, ballistics, F1 cars) for which they produce release liners.
As the recruitment partner to Mondi, we are seeking to recruit a procurement professional from within a manufacturing environment, who has a minimum of 5 years of experience.
Ideally the individual will have exposure to purchasing standard materials for volume production, as well as materials for specialist, short or batch production runs.
Experience for purchasing and negotiating contracts for site services, capex, maintenance and energy is also a requirement.
The candidate must speak and write fluent Dutch / Flemish and English to a professional level
German language skills would be beneficial but not a mandatory requirement
NEVI training or an equivalent qualification in purchasing (CIPS) is an advantage, although support will be given to enable a NEVI qualification to be obtained.
Labour Conditions:
The position is included in function group 12 of the Collective Labour Agreement.
It is a 40-hour working week with 30 vacation days with the possibility to buy an additional 5 days annually.
Salary scale fg 12 (= monthly gross salary payment excl. 8,33% holiday pay)
Minimum level: 4,809.49 euros (gross)
Maximum level: 5,608.74 euros (gross)
There is a bonus scheme based on individual as well as business objectives.
The employee will also receive a laptop and mobile phone from the company.
There is no company car for this position.
Why a vacancy for Procurement Manager?
The current Procurement Manager is going to retire end of 2025 and the client want to make sure there is enough time for a transfer of tasks and knowledge.
The Function:
The position of Procurement Manager is an integral part of the supply chain team and is the key player in the supply chain processes (especially paper and silicones from outside Europe)
Regarding the non-Bill Of Materials, the Procurement Manager is a very important service provider to the entire organization, especially with regard to production and maintenance
Main Tasks:
· Manage/continuously improve the cost of ownership throughout the process
· Ensure 100% availability of materials (paper, silicone, energy, transport, spare parts, facility matters).
· Making procurement processes more efficient and further digitizing.
· Performing both operational and administrative tasks.
· Follow-up of operational purchasing, sounding board for internal customers, internal entrepreneurship (quick decision-making), product performance, high Purchasing Order coverage via SAP.
· Collaboration with sister companies > further strengthen purchasing and material planning:
o Optimising/standardizing certain processes
o Further focus on sustainability
o Optimising local sourcing
· Supporting lead buyer in negotiations.
· Qualification of other raw materials in the context of dual sourcing or downgauging.
· Search for new raw materials in the context of new products.
· Analyzing initiatives regarding working capital reduction at suppliers.
· Conducting tenders, e.g. in connection with gas and electricity, in consultation with head office.
· Manage claim management incl. reporting.
· Conduct supplier reviews and audits

Willing to travel on a limited basis.
Profile:
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in Procurement and/or Supply Chain in a Manufacturing
· environment.
· Experience with ERP system, preferably SAP.
· Experience in a managerial position with the management of one or more employees is a plus but not a must.
· Affinity with digitizing processes.
· Microsoft office knowledge.
Reporting structure:
The Procurement Manager is part of the local Leadership Team and reports to the Supply Chain Manager. The Procurement Manager is leading the Material Planner. There is also group strategy alignment with other purchasing managers which will require communication with HQ and across other group sites.
