SENIOR MACHINE OPERATOR - LABEL PRINTING LANCASHIRE

Shift Patterns available:
£26,000 (variable based on experience)
* Double Day Shifts - 1 week on 6.15am till 2.15pm & 1 week on 1.45pm till 22.15pm Monday to Thursday, then Friday 1.45pm till 7.15pm

£28,000 (variable based on experience)
* Permanent Night Shift - Monday night through till Friday AM 9.45pm till 6.30am, then Friday evening 6.45pm till 11.15pm

Holiday Entitlement: 25 days + public holidays, Private Healthcare, Pension (matched up to 7%), Incentive Bonus, Death in Service benefit (3 x salary) plus other benefits

Our Client is currently looking for a label printer with experience within the flexographic printing business, history of machines such as Nilpeter, Mark Andy, Gallus etc. and experience working on multi-colour work would be very beneficial to this role. The main function of the Machine Operator is to set up, operate and dismantle a variety of color press and ancillary equipment.

Duties to involve:

  • To produce rolls of self-adhesive labels, tickets & tags
  • Consistently achieve productivity targets
  • Always maintain optimum quality
  • Complete accurate job records - time recording
  • Maintain optimum Health and Safety standards and keep press and work area clean at all times
  • Candidates should demonstrate an understanding of the functions and basic mechanical workings of most machines under limited supervision
  • Performs appropriate functional quality tests for operations performed on all equipment
  • Have a working knowledge of job related policies and procedures
  • Comply with all required safety practices and regulations
  • Train new operators in finishing operations

Skills required:

  • Good general level education.
  • 1 - 3 years of related experience operating finishing and/or label conversion equipment
  • Experience of operating high speed production machinery
  • Experience of working on a production environment to high quality standards and meeting targets and deadlines
  • General computer skills and numerical skills
  • Ability to use initiative with excellent problem solving skills
  • Flexible approach with the ability to follow detailed instructions
