Woking within R&D Operations to deliver nutritional brands projects by developing innovative global packaging solutions. The projects are typically high complexity in terms of technical solutions both material and machinery. They typically need to influence regional and global stakeholders. They require a large global external network (suppliers- both material and machinery, Design Agencies) to enable the technical solution to be developed. The associate is largely autonomous in developing the technical solution but may need support navigating through stakeholders.
Working as a member of the R&D team across Europe as well as interactions and support with North American team.
You will be accountable for up-to-date packaging technology and material expertise, material evaluations and technical details maintaining trial and test records. Responsible for lead-region implementation of growth, efficiency and quality projects with the relevant sites and suppliers. Responsible to work in close co-operation with the Technical programme leaders, with Global Engineering, and the specialized contacts in departments e.g. Marketing, Commercial, Supply to evaluate new ideas and concepts. Responsible to determine and collect new packaging or concepts by visiting trade fairs and keeping in close contact with the packaging industry. Responsible to work on continuous personal development regarding the latest packaging technology in order to remain informed about the most up-to-date technical standards, e.g. visiting seminars and trade fairs and by keeping in close contact with suppliers. Responsible to proactively manage Intellectual Property risks and opportunities. Effectively manage project risks and to inform and influence the project team, support Brand Board technical representatives as required, delivering robust packaging specifications , r development from initial concept packaging solutions which deliver to defined consumer & customer benefit
The main aim of the role is to support the development of innovative global packaging solutions, to identify and support the implementation of value or quality opportunities and to provide technical support to the global manufacturing network. To work together with the lead region to support the implementation of the new packaging solutions and to prepare knowledge transfer documentation to support the roll out to secondary regions.
Background, Experience & Qualifications required :
¨ science qualification degree or equivalent in packaging (IOP), technology, science or related subject area
¨ 5+ years packaging experience and a track record of delivering regional and global projects.
